San Mateo Outdoor Education
Green Zebra donates a portion of 2008 Peninsula guide proceeds to San Mateo Outdoor Education (SMOE), a program of the San Mateo County Office of Education. Each year SMOE brings 5,000 5th and 6th grade students from throughout the county to spend five days and four nights amid 1,000 acres of redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains at YMCA of San Francisco, Camp Jones Gulch. At SMOE students learn about the natural world, explore the forest and beach ecosystems, and work together as a community. Additionally, SMOE provides students with an opportunity to develop self-esteem, self-sufficiency and social responsibility.
For more information, visit the SMOE website www.smcoe.k12.ca.us/outdoored.
Green Zebra is proud to support SMOE and its efforts to nurture the next generation of environmentally responsible citizens. If your organization would like to be considered as a Green Zebra beneficiary, please contact us.
